Learning Support Services

The Discovery School Learning Support Services empowers students with unique learning needs. Our dedicated Learning Specialist collaborates with identified students, teachers, and families to establish a comprehensive support framework, fostering academic success and enabling students to reach their maximum potential. We offer various services, including small group reading intervention, targeted skill remediation, in-class assistance, and close coordination with teachers to implement suitable classroom accommodations.

Ensuring our students' success is a priority at Discovery School. We achieve this goal by regularly monitoring their progress throughout the school year using a curriculum-based assessment. This assessment provides valuable insights to teachers, helping them identify students who may require extra support and instruction.

The Learning Specialist will craft personalized Learning Profiles for each student based on official psychoeducational reports, 504 plans, or Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). These profiles will outline tailored accommodations to effectively address their learning requirements in the classroom setting. The Learning Specialist devises optimal strategies to enhance students' learning experiences, collaborating closely with classroom teachers and families.
